A Study of Domestic Psychomotor Research
Jung Chang-Suk

Abstract
Psychomotor therapy is on the rise as an intervention alternative for the new paradigm of a multidisciplinary approach. A multitude of academic disciplines have deemed physical activity a suitable form of treatment for individual abilities and characteristics while at the same time giving physical, cognitive, and social satisfaction to the subjects of intervention. Psychomotor through physical activities is based on the formation of self-conception and the whole-person development through movements. Therapeutic exercise and psychotherapy focus on the fragmentary intervention effects while psychomotor functions as secondary therapy as well as psychological/mental prevention based on the intervention effect of duplicate elements. Nevertheless, majority of the existing research focuses on infants/children with disabilities; however, psychomotor could be applied to everyone regardless of disabilities, age, and exercise ability. To do so, it would be necessary to apply the effects of psychomotor to much more diversified populations. This study examined 44 academic theses, 93 master¡¯s theses, and 11 doctoral theses on psychomotor research published between 2005 and 2017. A trend inquiry on type, age, and subject revealed the importance of diversity in the expansion and development of domestic psychomotor therapy.
